Coach Sam Corey

Sam Corey graduated from Seaholm High School as the wrestling captain during his senior year, and earned honors as a scholar athlete all four years. In college, he became involved in various activities on campus – working as a peer writing tutor, writing for two school newspapers, mentoring students in Detroit, and wrestling for the club team for two years. Upon graduating from the University of Michigan, Sam moved to southern Vietnam, where he taught English and learned Vietnamese in a semi-rural community.

Today, Coach Corey is proud to work as a Fellow for the American Civil Liberties Union in Detroit, and coach wrestling with Beat the Streets Detroit.  In that capacity, Coach Corey enjoys passing down all the valuable lessons he has gained from the sport of wrestling.
